Fun Activities for the 4th

With the 4th of July right around the corner, it is the perfect time to plan a fun family weekend in your local community. There are many activities in the Bay area which are sure to be fun for the whole family.

The Orinda 4th of July parade and celebration will be held on Friday, July 4th from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event will start with a pancake breakfast put on by the Orinda Roadrunners at the Orinda Community Center. There will be a second pancake breakfast is sponsored by the Moraga youth Involvement Committee starting at 8 a.m. at the Moraga Commons. The parade will start at 10 a.m., followed by activities in the park at 11:30 a.m. There will be plenty of family activities and food and drink vendors on site.

If you are looking to get a little more active on the 4th, make sure to check out one of the many runs in the area. Haley’s Run for a Reason, which benefits Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood features a 2 mile family walk, 5 mile run, and a 50 yard kids dash. There is also the Moraga Kiddie Runs for children who are 6 and under, where all participants will get a prize.

There are also many different 4th of July cruises to choose from in the San Francisco Bay area. There is a four hour Premier 4th of July dinner cruise that features a 4-course seated dinner and dancing before the fireworks show. There is also the 4th of July 3 and a half hour Belle cruise, which features a dinner buffet, fireworks, and festive dancing.
