Farmers Markets are a great place to find fresh, locally grown produce. It allows people to learn more about sustainable growing techniques, and ensure that their produce is as fresh as possible and free from pesticides. The Contra Costa County has plenty of farmers markets in the area.

The Moraga Farmers Market takes place every Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There are over 40 California family farmers and food producers selling at the market, all providing fresh, organic produce that is locally grown. Buying directly from the farmer, you will be buying produce that is up to two weeks fresher than what you are able to get at the grocery store.

Looking for great way for the family to kick off Saturday morning?  The Orinda Farmers Market is located on Orinda Way in Orinda Village near the library and Community Park.  In one stop you’ll be able to browse for a good book, have some fun in the park and take home some fabulous fresh produce.  Talk about a winning combination!

Spending a Sunday morning at the Walnut Creek Farmers Market is the best way to start your week. Named the best farmers’ market of 2012, the Walnut Creek market is the perfect place to have a cup of coffee and listen to the music with some of your friends. The Danville Farmers Market runs every Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Along with the usual fruits and vegetables, the Danville Farmers Market also features fresh-cut flowers, bedding plants, fresh breads, and specialty food items (the tasty crepes are just one example) that you can enjoy at the market or take home.
